Dogs have been known as man's best friend for decades. Owning a
dog can be a positive, enjoyable experience for the entire
family. Keep in mind however, that the decision to own a dog is
an important one that should not be taken lightly. A dog is not
just a fun diversion or entertaining gift. Owning a dog requires
a commitment from you that will last the lifetime of the dog.
The responsibilities of owning a dog and the joys of owning a
dog hold an equal place of importance. If you are ...

I own a dog walking and pet sitting business, and have for many years. I also have a college education in an unrelated field.
I find that it isn't about "mindlessness", or how "easy" the job is, because it really has it's own stresses, like every job. It's about people finding a person that can be trusted to make good decisions for the care of their pet while they are away. Help them
buy pet supplies. Help them maintain the pet's health. People are intensely attached to pets, they are ...

Do cat repellents work? How to stop a cat from using garden as
litterbox? Tell me how to keep cats out of my garden. These are
common questions of concern to all gardeners but is there a real
answer?
The first line of defence is to ensure that your yard boundaries
are secure. Any gaps in your fence should be blocked to deny low
level access. But cats can jump so fix a taut wire or string
some six inches above the top of your fence to deter this
approach.
Once inside your garden many people say ...

We have talked about the importance of both diet and exercise
when dealing with a pet that has arthritis. I think that diet is
such an important issue that it is one we should discuss in
greater detail. It is becoming common knowledge that as humans,
our bodies perform better when we "eat right." It is equally
important for pets to follow healthy food guidelines as well.
The Generic Foods
There are three "groups" of processed foods and it usually one
or more of these that we purchase to ...

The History of dogs
Dogs belong to the Canid family (Canidae).
Dogs first appeared about 40 million years ago, before any other
carnivore families like bears or cats.
Carnivores have a pair of teeth similar to blades that are
called carnassials. These teeth are like scissors and can slice
through skin and muscle.
Thirty five living species are included in the Canid family
tree. There are three main groups.
1. South American foxes 2. Wolves, including jackals, wolves,
coyotes, and dogs 3. Foxes ...

Pets can enjoy the therapeutic effects of aromatherapy as much
as humans can. Aside from possibly eliminating bad odors and
giving your pet a pleasant perfume, essential oils also serve
many practical functions such as boosting your pet's immune
system, fighting off bacteria and viruses, preventing the growth
of yeasts and molds and repelling insects.
Aromatherapy is used by enthusiasts, groomers and pet salons to
trea mild ailments such as skin inflammations, itchy skin ear

Making our lives better includes protecting our families, and
also included in this category is the family pet. This once wild
animal has become an integral part of the modern family, and
there are many laws devoted to stopping abuses to pets. What is
lacking in the modern family is proving a means to recover the
family pet, if they should ever become lost. Ensuring that a
lost pet will be returned to its owners should be a number one
priority, because the loss of a family pet can be a ...

I have had many pets in my life but parrots for pets are my
all-time favorites. This is primarily because most parrots have
long lives. Moreover, parrots are one of the best pets in the
world. As pets, parrots provide a lot of entertainment and they
bond with humans just as they would with their flock.
For pets, parrots are the right choice for people with small
children at home and for those who have retired from active
professional lives. Parrots can be a lot of fun to be with and
are ideal ...
